Although some traditional manufacturing enterprises regard digital intelligence as an important development goal, they have not been included in the priority implementation content in actual operations. At the CIIF, Midea Group’s four major digital intelligence businesses also unveiled, including KUKA, Meiyun Smart Number, Ande Smart Connection, and central air conditioning. Take KUKA KR4AGILUS as an example. This is the first robot independently developed by the KUKA China team and sold globally. It can help companies in the automotive industry, electronics industry, consumer goods industry, logistics/e-commerce industry, medical care and other industries to cut into robots, achieve single-point upgrades, quickly deploy the infrastructure of intelligent manufacturing, and take first step on digital and intelligent transformation.

“The digital and intelligent upgrade of pan-manufacturing enterprises cannot be achieved in just one step, and there is no universal template for each company.” Zhang Xiaoyi, Vice President and CIO of Midea Group, President of IoT Business Unit, told the 21st Century Business Herald reporter. During the whole process of digital intelligence technology penetrating into product design, manufacturing, delivery and user experience, the entire scenario has been redefined not only the traditional home appliance 3C industry, but also the pan-manufacturing industry including shoes and clothing, automobiles, food, metal products, daily chemicals etc, and the upgrading of digital intelligence requires iterative solutions that can fit each sub-industry and scenario, and cannot copy previous digital intelligence theories and models.
The changes in Chinese robotics industry contain huge opportunities and challenges as well. On one hand, national policies have brought opportunities for the industry; on the other hand, the industry is in urgent need of innovation and breakthroughs, which has become an unavoidable challenge.
“In the social 5.0 era, the role of digital intelligence technology in robots has evolved from simulation and rehearsal to process control, making human-machine collaboration and robot operation and maintenance smoother and more efficient.” Professor of School of Mechanical and Power Engineering, Shanghai Jiaotong University Cao Qixin told reporter from 21st Century Business Herald.
